As the season nears its end, Blau Weiss Gottschee Soccer Club has plenty to celebrate. Our teams have demonstrated remarkable skill, dedication, and sportsmanship, bringing home several accolades and setting the stage for an exciting June filled with major competitions. Here’s a look at our achievements so far and what we have to look forward to in the coming weeks.

State Cup Triumphs

We are thrilled to announce that two of our teams have emerged victorious in the New York State Cup held on June 1st. Our 2011 MLS II team clinched the title with a thrilling 4-2 victory over East Coast in the final.

Meanwhile, in an impressive all-Gottschee final, the 2012 Blue team triumphed over the 2012 White team with a decisive 4-0 win.

This all-Gottschee dominance in the 2012 age group also bled into the two teams' results in NEAL, where both teams were crowned champions of their divisions! These outstanding performances are a testament to the hard work and determination of our young athletes and their coaches.

Our two State Cup champs will advance to the Regionals in West Virginia later this month, aiming to secure a spot in the Nationals. We wish them the best of luck and are confident they will make us proud.

NAL Regionals Bound

Three of our MLS II teams have successfully secured spots in the NAL National Championship, set to take place at Tuckahoe Turf Farms in New Jersey from June 15 to June 19, with our 2009s even managing to win their NAL league!

Our 2011, 2009, and 2007 MLS II teams will compete against top-tier teams from across the nation, and we are excited to see them bring the prize home to Queens. Their journey has been marked by exceptional teamwork and relentless effort, and we believe they have what it takes to emerge victorious.

MLS NEXT Playoffs

In what is perhaps the most significant achievement of the season, three of our MLS NEXT Academy teams have qualified for the prestigious MLS NEXT Cup. Our U16, U17, and U19 teams will compete against the best youth teams in the United States, with a chance to be crowned champions of America.

2008 MLS NEXT FLEX CHAMPS

Both of our 2007 & 2008 MLS NEXT teams successfully won the MLS NEXT FLEX and Spring seasons to automatically qualify for the tournament, with our 2007's even being able to stay undefeated in MLS NEXT FLEX, defeating prominent MLS academies along the way like NY Red Bulls, CF Montreal, New England Revolution, and Toronto FC!

Notably, we are the non-MLS academy with the most representation in the MLS NEXT Cup playoffs out of the Northeast, underscoring the strength and depth of our program.

The U17 Academy team will kick off their tournament on Sunday, June 16, at 6:15 PM against the Seattle Sounders U17. The match will be streamed on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass, allowing fans worldwide to witness the Gottschee Way in action. This is a significant milestone for our club, and we are immensely proud of our players and coaches for reaching this stage.

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on an already amazing season, we are filled with anticipation for the events that lie ahead in June. Our teams are poised to compete on regional and national stages, showcasing their talent and the exceptional training they have received at Blau Weiss Gottschee Soccer Club. We encourage all our supporters to stay tuned and cheer on our teams as they strive for the biggest prizes yet to come.

In conclusion, this season has been a testament to the hard work, passion, and excellence that define BW Gottschee. Let’s continue to support our teams as they aim for glory in the coming weeks. Go Gottschee!
